Rall - Ava - Syrah

- regio: Swartland

- wervelend in de neus met rode en zwarte bessen, olijven, rozenblaadjes, lavendel, fynbos en witte peper

- buitengewoon mondgevoel met veel fruit, puur en fris, ragfijne tannines

Tim Atkin: 96/100 An impressive follow up to the outstanding maiden release in 2017, this comes from the same schist-based parcel. It's more tannic and concentrated than its predecessor - a reflection of the vintage perhaps - with some meaty reduction, sappy, tobacco and white pepper spice, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and considerable ageing potential. 2023-30

- Christian Eedes, winemag.co.za : 98/100

Grapes from two Swartland vineyards on schist. 100% whole-bunch fermentation. Stunning aromatics of red and black berries, olive, floral perfume, a hint of musk, pepper and spice while the palate is tremendously well structure with great clarity of fruit, bright acidity and firm yet fine tannins. Compelling now yet built to last at least a decade from now. Sublime stuff.
